Young. Talented. Inspirational.
- Strong Christian foundation -- she attributes this to her mother,
Karen. "My mom has shown me that with God I have an outlook,
that I should and can be my
best, and to never quit..."
- Support from family -- Isabel named some of the most influential
people in her life as being her mother, whose determination and
belief in her always
sees her through and encourages her to keep
going, and her cousin, Keanna, whose travels to Spain and attendance
to college were great examples to her.
Isabel recalls, "I wanted to start living and doing what was best for me, not just the "right now," or to "fit in" -- without using good judgement. I was tired, and finally submited to being the person my parents had always told me I could be."
When asked who she believes she is, Isabel says, "I am a Christian role model, apring immunologist (study of vaccinations), and discovery channel fanatic!"
Her advice to teens today: "Take the time and find enough reasons to know that God is working as hard as He can to give you what you need to succeed. Stay in school and sieze the opportunities there. Value every single day of your life. Live it with unspeakable love for those you love, like and even the ones you think you don't like."
